And Now, Fall. in General

I left the bedroom window open last night. I needed to get up this morning because I had a dentist appointment.

It must have looked comical as I huddled under the covers and reached out to hit the snooze. For two hours. I was doing the semi-awake deal-making. “I can get up now and a take a shower, get some coffee, watch the news, change my clothes and go” to “I can sleep another hour, skip the shower, coffee and news and get there just in time.”

I split the difference. Got up early enough to take a shower, but not early enough to have coffee.

It hit 24F last night. So we actually got a frost.

I dread going to the dentist. Only because they are working it so hard to make money. Six months ago they told me I needed a filling replaced. It was an experiment. I cancelled the appointment last time to see if he told me I needed two fillings replaced this time.

Nope. They have a new gizmo that does a full head x-ray.

Ta-dah! They find a shadow in the X-ray in the area where my lower right wisdom tooth should be. A wisdom tooth that was taken out when I was 15.

So now I have a referral to a maxillofacial surgeon.

Having some kind of weird cancer in my jaw would really fuck with my end of life plan. Because my last meal is supposed to be a huge porterhouse, a loaded baked potato, and some lightly steamed broccoli with a nice alfredo sauce. Chewing is kinda part of the deal.

Last night, being Halloween, was uneventful. I did what I always do, give away candy to the munchkins until the teens starts showing up, then go to the movies.

I went and saw “Sully.” I was surprised. It was pretty good. I was expecting 90 minutes of second guessing a guy who saved 155 lives.

As I was closing the blinds before going to the movies last night the right blind basically fell apart.

I don’t own this place, but I went to Lowes to get a replacement. Apparently blinds are not standardized. I picked out a nice set of blinds, but the math didn’t seem to work, so I took one back and came home. As I expected, they are literally 1/4” too long. So back to Lowes tomorrow. The clerk said they can cut them to fit.

Or I can just call the rental office and have them show up some time in the next three weeks and replace the blinds.

Kinda up to me, I suppose.
