Aurion,

You are one year old. Well one year and one day. You’re a walking, dancing, talking delight!

You are so sweet; you give kisses and hugs and when you hear someone crying (usually your brother when he doesn’t get his way), your natural reaction is to go comfort them with sweet little hugs and soothing sounds.

You’re also fierce! If someone crosses you or tries to take something from you, you will not hesitate to make it known that you are not OK with it. You enjoy taking your brother’s toys and claiming them as your own. You are babyzilla!

You love your dog SO much. “Dog” was your first word and it’s still your FAVORITE thing to say. You CAN say “mama” but you don’t often use it in the correct context. A few additional words have been manifesting, but your vocabulary is still quite limited.

You are WALKING. You have been taking steps for more than a month, but in this last week leading up to your birthday, you’ve been off and moving with a lovely amount of confidence and gusto. You’re so proud of yourself and it’s just so awesome to watch you take control of your body and move like you want to.

You love music and dancing; you have a natural rhythm and a soundtrack in your head; I see you bobbing along and singing when you think no one is looking. I just love to see the joy in your little self when the music - inside your head or playing externally - moves you. I’ll put music on my phone and hand it to you and you’ll hold it in your sweet little hands and rock out.

You’re still miniature; but you’re growth is steady and on pace for your little self. You weigh 18 lbs (23rd percentile), you are 29” tall (45th percentile) and you have 8 sweet little teeth, with a gap between the top two that is simply adorable.

You’re super particular about who can hold you; but when you love someone you REALLY love them. You’re about as loyal as can be, and it’s nice to feel loved by you.
