The beginning in Healthy Living

Here I am at the beginning of my long journey. I have 100 pounds to shed and I am ready to be healthy again! I have so far lost 10 pounds and I am already noticing a difference in my energy levels. God knows giving up the pop was hard and I hope that I never get sucked into that trap again. The migraines were terrible, but I am so glad that I done with that! I occasionally crave one (like now talking about it lol) but I can go without. I don't feel the overwhelming need to give in.

The healthy eating has definetely helped as well. It is starting to be a routine. On monday I cook a big batch of boiled eggs and chicken breasts so I have no excuses not to have something healthy for breakfast and lunch. Today my husband made some hamburger helper. Our family is low income and we have mostly survived off of cheap easy processed meals like that. They all really enjoy it and he was making it for him and the boys. I decided I'd just have a small amount of that that for dinner to save me from cooking. Well. I took one bite and felt like I was sucking on a salt lick. Needless to say, I couldn't eat any more. A veggie burger it was for dinner!

I am currently undertaking the Les Mills Combat program from Beachbody. When I complete this 60 day program I will post before and after pictures!

It is really fascinating to me the changes in just a couple weeks that my body has gone through. The differences in how things taste and what I want to eat. My current favorite is Hummus. YuM! I'm excited to see where this journey is going to take me and recording it along the way. Hopefully this will give me something to look back on so that I never fall into the trap again. Here is to healthy living and living my life how God intended.
