Rainy churches in blackpropaganda

Yesterday the weather forecast was bad, but we decided to go to Florence on the train - just 90 minutes each way for 15 euros return.
We just had one thing to see - the church by the station - Santa Maria Novella - which is wonderful - and we have missed before. We also walked to see the Duomo (cathedral) - and walked back to the station just as the rain started. Pictures when we get back.
The crowds, even late in the season, were enormous - goodness knows what they make of it when it is so rushed.
Today in Lucca it has been thunder and rain - but been to the museum and a key church. Now resting quietly thinking what to have for dinner - unfortunately not in the hotel garden tonight.
Is there anything better than Tortelini with a Bolognese sauce?
One more day to go - forecast? Rain!
