38 Weeks, Nursery Pics in My Metamorphosis

So I’m 38 weeks today. I have been trying everything to induce labor with no luck. I was having some major contractions and back pain yesterday and ended up going to the Dr. They hooked me up to the fetal monitor and I was having contractions about every 2 mins, but only a few major ones I guess. I’m 3cm dilated and 50% effaced. Which is what I was last week at my 37 week appt. Blah. I thought for sure I’d be admitted. Oh well, guess he’ll come when he’s ready. I go back to the Dr. tomorrow morning for my normal 38 week appt. Seems kinda pointless since I was JUST there, but maybe I’ve progressed more. I really wanted to have him yesterday because it was my dad’s birthday, but he had other plans obviously.

We finished the nursery. Well, almost - we still don’t have a crib. But there’s a bassinet there for now, though he won’t be sleeping in his room for a while. Our bedroom is down stairs and his is upstairs, so he will def be with us for a good 3-6 months.

Work has become cumbersome. I like my job, I know it’s just pregnancy hormones making me so irritable and annoyed - but gosh I’m tired of everyone having something to say about my pregnancy. Like, I like getting people’s opinions and stuff but EVERYONE has something to say “You look tiny for 9 months” “You’re huge” “Oh you’re carrying high, are you sure it’s not a girl?” “You ain’t had that baby yet?” “insert unsolicited advice here.” It’s just annoying. And I know they mean well, but damn everyone thinks they’re the expert. I shouldn’t complain about my coworkers, they just threw me a surprise baby shower last week, on top of the baby shower my coworkers from another clinic threw me.

Meh. I’m just big and grouchy and over this.

Things with Cassidy have gotten much better since my last entry. We took away her phone and computer privileges completely and suddenly she was more studious, did extra chores, and was more pleasant to be around. She got her privleges back on a trial basis, for just two hours each night so we’ll see how that goes. She has an open house tonight so I’m looking forward to finally meeting her teachers and actually knowing what’s going on at school.

Anyway that’s pretty much it. Nothing too exciting to report. Fingers crossed for some good news from the doctor tomorrow!
