Boy meets girl in Life as I know it

So my first extended experience seeing someone since my divorce was a complete bust. To sum it up:
Boy meets girl. Boy likes girl. Girl hesitates because of trust issues. Boy pursues girl. Girl starts to let down her walls and likes boy. Boy loses interest in girl. Girl is left confused and alone.
Guess the main problem with this story is the boy shouldn’t be a boy, boy should be replaced with a man.
No, I didn’t love him. But it was nice to finally start liking someone since the divorce. Now, to put back up those walls.
