The heat is finally calming down and it was rather pleasant as we walked by the lake this evening. Nice breeze coming in and only a few clouds.
Em came home for Father’s Day and we did family movie outing on Saturday night (Finding Dory because we’re all animation geeks) and then brunch on Sunday at ‘R’s favourite place. We took her back to her apartment on Sunday afternoon then bummed around the city for a few hours after leaving her place.
It seems so strange to think that Em’s going to be 21 this year and is getting ready to start fourth year university. Where does time go?
For that matter, ‘R’ and I have been together over seventeen years now. Seventeenth anniversary next February. Seems like only yesterday I ran face first into his chest as he tapped me on the shoulder at our first face to face meet. I do so love that man.
I can’t decide if I love him more than I did when we first got together or it that’s even a possibility. He still makes my heart skip a beat :)
Having dinner with an ex-coworker & friend this week. I’ll be talking to her about the possibility of coming in to speak with my boss about a potential job. There was a training session last week where newbie didn’t shine at all and boss lady is getting fed up since it’s been nearly four months now and it seems like nothing is sticking with the newb. So, boss lady asked me to speak to my friend who has 10+ years in our industry to see if she’d be interested in a change. One snag.....my friend is on maternity leave and no guarantee that she’d be willing to come back into the work force early. We’ll see what Thursday brings. If nothing else I get to visit with her and meet the new boy child.
Next weekend we leave for our long weekend getaway to TN. Gotta get things in order and pack up food to have at the cabin. I’m really looking forward to this trip.
Just reminded myself that I have to send ‘R’ the info on the cabin…must go do that before I forget. TTFN
