When your baby wakes you up at 5:30am, morning goes on FOREVER! Summer and I are in a pattern now where we go to bed between 9:30-10:30 every night and she wakes up for a feeding around 5:30-6:30 which is awesome for her age but the 5:30 wake up calls are still a bit rough. I change her, feed her and then make myself a coffee in my keurig machine. Cody is a super early riser too and wakes up around 6 or sometimes before then so sometimes when she wakes me up, I go downstairs where he’s watching cartoons and playing with lego and he instantly starts talking my ear off and saying, “Mom look at my new ship I built!” or “Mom look at this and this!” and I’m like holy crap child, my eyes are barely open yet give me a second lol.
Today is one of those early mornings. It’s 8:15am now and she woke me up at 5:30. Cody was up at 6, Miles at 6:30 (which is unusual for him) and Mike, who got Miles out of his crib was like omg why are we all up so early? lol. Poor Cody waking up so early too. Especially on weekdays when he has school. It will be like 6:30am and he will be like “Are we going to the bus stop soon?” and I feel bad to tell him that he’s not going to school for a WHILE. We leave for the bus stop at 8:50 lol. That’s like this morning. He’s asking me when we are going to soccer and he already has his whole uniform on. Meanwhile it’s just after 8 and we don’t leave for soccer til 10. I’m actually going to make banana bread and clean the whole kitchen soon just for something to do while Summer naps before we go.
So Summer is just over 2 months now....Monday she will be 2 months and a week old and the poor girl has to get her first set of needles. That’s not going to be fun to experience but it needs to be done :( I’m fully healed from my c section now and feeling great. A couple weeks ago I noticed some redness around my c section incision so I made an appointment with my OB and she gave me a prescription for some oral yeast pills as well as a cream and it looks like that’s all gone now. It wasn’t bothering me really but I don’t like to mess around when it comes to having a possible infection.
When I was pregnant with Summer I gained 50 pounds exactly. Which kind of shocked me because I gained exactly 50 pounds when pregnant with each of the boys too. How weird is that? My body must like that number. With Cody I was 160lbs and gained 50lbs, with Miles I was 170lbs before getting pregnant and with Summer I was 180lbs when I got pregnant (which is just embarassing, I normally don’t let myself get that high). So I got up to 230lbs when I had Summer (highest weight ever-omg!) and now I’m around 210. I haven’t been dieting or exercising at all yet but my body is super gross right now. I only fit into maternity clothes still and I’m wearing Mike’s shirts cuz all of mine are too small besides the form fitting maternity shirts which I don’t want to wear now that I’m not pregnant. This Monday, the 20th, I’m starting to count calories and exercise. I’m going to eat around 1800 calories and find my fitbit and put it on and try to go for a walk every day so I get to 10,000 steps a day. This is what has worked for me to steadily lose weight in the past and so that’s what I’m going to do. 1800 calories is a decent amount but since I’m exclusively breastfeeding I will still be able to lose weight. So yay! I’m not excited to watch every bite I eat but I definitely want this weight off and I figure if I start now then by the time the weather starts to get cold at the end of September, so in 3 months, I should be around 180lbs. My end goal is 160 cuz that’s what looks good on me but I know I will look and feel a ton better by the time I reach 180. We have an awesome double stroller now too, a BOB, which cost my parents around $1000. It was their gift to us when Summer was born. So yay!
