Monday
Got several notes on the dogs in my last entry. They belong to Josh and the darker one is a pure bred corgi and the ligher one is a corgi mix. Their names are Chewy and Tuck.
Wore out tonight. Glad we get a day off this week. I dont think I mentioned in my diary that my boss is retiring at the end of January. I’m looking forward to it as I have not been happy with her for a boss for a long long time. I cant imagine her replacement could be any worse. Now when she stops by my desk to annoy me. I just smile and nod and think to myself I was here long before you and I’m going to be here after you are gone.
Good Things I did for me
Spin class
mile run on the treadmill

Tracie’s girls who give me a reason to be glad I dont have children on at least a weekly basis. Today the drama was a spider in the bathroom. They couldnt go to the bathroom cause a spider was in the bathroom. For about 20 minutes there was a constrant stream of calls and texts about the spider. It did remind me of the days when I lived at home and I was the official spider killer for my macho brother.
Tuesday
Guess its time to think about New Year resolutions. I want to maintain my weight loss. I want to do guy style push ups by the end of the year. Run a 5K in under 30 minutes, and complete a half marathon. I want to read 100 books which averages to a little over eight books a month or two books a week. That sounds doable. Its been a goal the last three years. In 2011 I read 86, In 2012 I read 92 and this year I read 96. The best books I read in 2013 were:
In Cold Blood by Truman Capote a “true” story about the savage murder of the Clutter family in the 1960’s. Ive since heard that Capote fabricated parts of the story to make it more interesting.
The Devil In Pew #7 by Rebecca Alonzo a true story about a pastor who is tormented by one of his parishioners, and of his daughters forgiveness.
Tangles by Sara Leavitt a graphic novel about a family dealing with dementia. I enjoyed or at least related to the daughters jealousy of the mothers cat.
Wonder by RJ Palacio a young adult novel about a boy with deformities and his first year in junior high.
The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate a young adult novel about Ivan a gorilla who lives at a strip mall.
Life after Life by Kate Atkinson. Best book I read this year. Even six months later I miss the characters and wish I could read the story again but have it be new to me.

That Open Diary is running again. Now if only the rest of my faves would start writing again.
