Dad came down at 10:30 yesterday morning so he could go to the tax accountant’s with me before we headed east for his eye appointment. He forgot to bring his checkbook to pay the accountant fees for doing his taxes and then he decided to just sit in his SUV while I went inside to take care of things. I wrote two separate checks. One for mine and one for his so I can remind him to write me a check for the correct amount later. He may nor may not remember what I told him the fee amount was, and I know I certainly won’t remember. Anyway, I got the squared away and we head east on the interstate. Of course we arrived in said mid city way before his appointment time, and I wanted to go to Walgreens to look for a couple of items, so while he sat in the vehicle, after insisting I go to WalGreens, I found the items I wanted, paid for them and we went on to the eye doc’s parking lot. We sat in the vehicle until 30 min prior to the appointment, which means we went inside at 12:30. The receptionist/nurse or whatever she is called his name quickly and took s to a room and then moved us to a different room. Think it was a little “tense” in that office between folks that work there yesterday. So eye specialist came in about 15 min later and started the exam. After much waiting, many drops in dad’s eye’s, and several pictures of the eyes, we finally learned that dad was getting another shot in the good eye. We departed the office at 2:30-2:45. I need bread and ketchup so I went by Aldi and got those 2 things and some bananas. The banana’s were $.29 a lb. Had to get some at that price even if they go bad before I use them. Didn’t get but about 2 or 3 lbs but they are just like I like them. A little green.

Stopped at a place to eat off the interstate and I ordered J some supper. He had put in his order before he left for work that morning when I told him I was taking his grandpa to an appointment. He knows it is a cheeseburger for supper when that happens. lol

Finished up the quilted cover for the metal stool and even though I put elastic and ties to keep it from sliding when stepped on, it gave a little bit. I decided as I got into bed, with my stomach unhappy about milk I stupidly had with supper (a bowl of cereal) that I would call the furniture store this morning to see if they would give me a different foundation to make it somewhat lower or a step build specifically to get into a high bed. Around 10am I called them to see if anything could be done, and yes, they could, and not only could and would, they will come this afternoon in about an hour to make the switch. I don’t know if there is a difference in cost or not, and would think the less thick one would be less expensive, but am not going to quibble about the price.

The pillow top mattress is wonderful and I had another night of not waking up in any pain, and even more surprising, I actually didn’t wake up until my alarm went off. That hasn’t happened is so very long, I just don’t remember the last time. AND the time or two it has happened, I’ve stayed up MUCH later than normal. Do I can’t imagine being any happier than when I finally pick out a new set, but today, knowing I shouldn’t have any issues getting in or out of bed is making me twice as happy. No worries if joints, muscles, tendons, etc revolt on me in the future and I understand this exchange will not make it as low as the old set, but the old set was probably so low because it was completely worn out!! So my life is great!!

I used the riding mower around noon and mowed my yard again. The rain make the weeds and wild onions jump up considerably. Even those horrid dandelions had burst forth with seed blooms.
I do not have a plan for tomorrow. Might not do anything tomorrow that I have on any list, although I may make a list to buy at Walmart and get that little chore done. Also may go to Lowe’s and get a few bags of potting soil so I can have it here. I have one bag from last year but will open it in the next few days to plant more seeds. I still have to plant green beans, zukes, and still need to buy radish seeds. I may even buy onions, but haven’t made up my mind yet about them. My chives are going gung ho and I’m really glad I put them in a planter.

Strawberries are blooming and the blackberries are leaving out. I hope the blackberries do better this summer but it will depend on how much watering I do or how much rain we get.

I’m going to end this as I am certain it is getting way to wordy and long and pretty boring continuing to read about my mattress woes, yard mowing, etc. I will stop writing about the mattresses soon I promise.

Take care and God Bless my friends

EDIT: They arrived about 3:15 and this one is perfect!! I do not believe it affect the top pillow top mattress and I put my pillow top mattress pad on the mattress and made it up again. The bedspread hangs better off the sides and doesn’t look too little for it now. No step stool needed, just a bit of a tiptoe to get in in now. *Sigh I may be happy. ;)

Thank you and you are absolutely correct. A good night's sleep is worth a LOT. The exchange has happened and I am sure I won't feel like I could get the covers tangled in the ceiling fan if I fling them back. lol

I learned something today. They make 2 step ladders. Now I have needed one since I got some new mattresses, late last year. Headed to the hardware store or maybe Walmart. Thanks.

love my 2 step ladder! only way i can get to my top kitchen cabinets.
you just go right ahead and talk about sleep. good sleep is wonderful.
where you are is so far ahead of where we are in terms of gardening. warm this week and then a cold front and cold again next week. all i can do is prepare. can't really plant yet except in pots for inside.
take care,

I love my tall bed, but I am 5'9" and it makes a huge difference. I just feel like I'm sleeping in a treehouse or something! I'm so very glad you found a solution to your problem, and now can have night after night of sweet dreams.

Happy is a good thing. I'm getting rid of all my sheet that do not have deep enough corners for the mattress.
