Mid Week update in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

The Plan is being outrun by a slow turtle but is still going. All of the drawers in the utility room cabinets have been cleaned, purged, and organized but it took me until yesterday to complete them. I am having several pauses but am determined to continue until I’m satisfied. I had planned on making major progress on Monday, however, life events put that on hold. Dude and Mickey came down as I’d written in the last entry and I ended up taking him to pick up Dudette’s car in Walmart town. Dudette picked up her company car that morning, and she had parked her car in the Walmart parking lot while she went with her new boss to get the company car she will now use for work. They planned to get her car that evening when she got off work, but I told him I would take him over to get it which it what happened. While we were over there, I got a few things, and also he lifted another 50lb bag of dog food for me so now I have almost 100lbs of dog food for Polka Dot. I can slide the 50lb bags into the cart, but it is getting harder for me to load it from the cart into my Tahoe. I still can, but usually pop a rib out every time now. Not good nor comfortable so why do it when you have a son who is available and willing?

After I paid for the few things I bought I followed him to his house, picked him up and brought him back here to pick up his truck. He had just about 30 min to get to an appointment for him to renew his BP meds, but dad had seen us go by and was here in 2 shakes of a lambs tail. Before we could get the back of the Tahoe shut from unloading the dog food and the 3 bags I’d bought, he was here. lol He gets so excited when Dude comes around and at times that is not always a good thing. We (Dude and I) explained to dad that Dude had to leave, like right then, to get to his appointment so whatever Dad had planned for Dude was going to have to wait. After Dude and Mickey left, and since it was a pretty day, I agreed to dad’s suggestion of doing some target practicing. He wanted to run home to get his gun so I got the targets, my newest gun and ammunition out and put the target up. Seems like nothing worked. My pistol jammed after the 3rd shot but a good cleaning fixed that problem. He wanted me to fire his pistol and it had an issue too which we never did get fixed. I was glad we’d practiced, as I’d not shot the one I used that day since he’d given it to me. He wants me to have to shot an intruder, I wanted it to shoot a snake. lol Actually the way I shot, both an intruder or a snake do not have much to fear. I need to practice more often.

By 4:30 I wanted to wrap it up and move on to other things. He would have continued for another couple of hours, but I needed to quit. So, he packed up his stuff and after he left I put my stuff under lock and key. I was exhausted from nerves watching dad trying to work on his pistol. So I got nothing else done on Monday evening. I was just not motivated to clean or purge.

Yesterday I finally got going again. I didn’t get serious until the afternoon and seemed to just not have motivation for anything. When it did finally kick in, then I started, which causes a chain reaction. I was able to use that top shelf that had been emptied for all my cookbooks. Yay!! That included cookbooks that I had next to my stove in the kitchen. That in itself made me happy. I had a LOT of stuff stuck in those drawers and am sure that when I moved down here, those drawers were used for stuff I didn’t know where else to put. Now that I’ve been organizing and cleaning, a lot of the stuff in those drawers have a place so with that being said, I have two drawers available for later. When I start on the kitchen cabinets there is a possibility some of that stuff will be moved into the empty drawers in the utility room. Time will tell, but I suspect so.

Tomorrow is J’s appointment with the breathing specialist and I am requesting that what ever your choice is, prayer, good thoughts, etc we could use them. He is still resistant, but it is non-negotiable.

The good news (and maybe my leverage) is that his deer mount is done and ready to be paid for and picked up. Dude will come and pick up J after Dude gets off work on Friday afternoon and I’ll send a check with them and will get his completed mount. I’m praying that being able to finally see the completed mount, will ease the dread of tomorrow for him. Something he’s been waiting on will happen AFTER the dreaded appointment. I hope Dude can get it on J’s wall that evening, but if not, probably over the weekend or Monday.

I’m going to stop now and try and do something. I apparently have a salvia gland blocked again, as the left side of my face, below my ear, has started swelling. It kinda hurts actually. I’m trying to drink a LOT more water, as when I had this happen before I was told that not drinking enough water caused it. Blah!! Hope it isn’t too late for the intake of water to reduce and get rid of the blockage. I look like I have the mumps and it kinda feels like it too. Thankfully it is just on one side, but chewing makes it swell almost immediately. My food intake will reduce which I’ll survive, but it sure makes it difficult to keep my stomach from rumbling.

Take care and God Bless

Doesn't matter how slow the going is, purging and tidying always gives a such a great sense of accomplishment.
Hope your water intake helps!

Nobody likes to go to the doctor...sometimes we just have to, though.

Bravo for your progress on the plan. Amazing how much stuff we can accumulate over time. Lifting Jacob up in prayer. I would be mighty scared myself if I had to go through the same thing. :-)

I think I finally have a C-Pap mask I like. they are usually always too big. I have tried a lot of different styles. Hopefully J can find one he likes and that he really gets one that fits well instead of saying it does just so he can be done with trying them on!! Trouble is they have you sitting up when you try them and they fit differently when you are laying down.
