Saturday, the Plan, and grands in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

The Plan is slowly but surely getting accomplished and I need to make another list for next week. I started on the shelf in the utility room closet early yesterday morning and had it done within an hour. There are two under the bed type storage things that I keep on that top shelf. One has Christmas wrapping and the stuff that goes with it to include the tags, ribbon, scissors, and tape. I went through both storage boxes, wiped them out, and threw stuff away that either wasn’t going to be used or just old. Both totes are now neatly organized and oh what a relief it is.

Then a bit later, after I ate breakfast, I started on the upper cabinets. The first thing I did was go through the big binders I kept in one section of one of the cabinets and moved them to a shelf in the utility closet. It was awesome how much room I’d made on the shelves in that closet and had created room for other stuff like these binders. The binders are my SYA documents from making a big change in management at the WS and I will keep them forever, in case we have have legal actions taken. I don’t believe we will, however, I’m not taking the chance of not having my butt covered and I have 4 binders of proof of why we needed to go in a new and different direction.

One binder with all the house hold appliance manuals stayed in the cabinet and I guess I could have put it in the closet, but will keep it where it is for now. Also discovered one of the small gray binders had old pictures of my flower gardens on the hill behind the trailer. I just couldn’t throw them away so they are kept too. I do have my limits. lol

Lots of organizing of other things and some things were totally removed and stored with other like things. All of my canning stuff to include the pickling salt is now all together on the new wire shelves. I have room in the cabinet area now to store snack foods for the grands and for when we just need something like chips. It is out of sight so won’t be as tempting. Have one shelf empty but I’m sure I will move something there before I’m done with “The Plan”.

I did meet sister for lunch and she had texted me earlier yesterday morning to see if I could pick up her son from school. Since meeting her is the opposite direction from school and her lunch time wasn’t until 12:45, I thought I would load the donations I had acquired and just take them so I didn’t have to stop back here before I went to home town to pick up nephew. I did just that, and before I met her for lunch I went to the Dollar Tree and bought the travel bottles to use for my shampoo and conditioner and the package also had a little spray bottle too. I will use it to spray the plant sprouts and plants as they grow for awhile. It will be too little to use once they get to growing, but will come in handy. Then I’ll convert it to use in the laundry room and put Hydrogen Peroxide and Dawn detergent in it to use for stains on clothes. Tried that the last couple of days and it worked wonderfully.

After we departed from our “lunch date” I headed to home town and went to the Caring Center to drop off a couple of bags of clothes and a box of stuff. I did look around in the store, but happy to say, I bought nothing. I forgot to put the other printer in my truck, but will take it next time I do a drop.

So. I am sooo very happy with the progress and the results. Yesterday evening, I went back there, turned on the light, and opened every cabinet door to include the closet door to admire the results of “the plan”. lol Crazy huh?

So the list for next week will be as follows:

Pantry
lower cabinets on both sides of utility room
Upper cabinets above washer and dryer
Shelf above hanging rod
Sweep and mop entire area again

Not sure I’ll get the list completed next week, as on Thursday J has the appointment with the specialist to see about getting him a CPAP and mask that fits him properly. I’m trying not to be nervous about the upcoming appointment, but when I talked to him about the appointment, he tried to tell me he was fine and he didn’t need to go. He does and he will so if you pray, I ask that this works out and they can either find a mask or get one designed and made for him AND that he will use the CPAP machine and not be scared. It just breaks my heart when J is scared. I want this to help him and if plan A doesn’t work for him, there is mention of putting in a Tracheostomy so he can breathe. I consider that option the last option so please pray that the Trach can be avoided.

Two of the grands will be here this afternoon and Raylee will be staying with me tonight and tomorrow night. Seriously doubt I’ll get anything done in the utility room while they are here, but they might be gung ho for pulling everything out of those lower shelves. It is going to be too cold and windy to burn today, so that thought will be postponed. Thankfully I hadn’t mentioned that plan to them, so they won’t be disappointed. I think we had a frost this morning but didn’t even look. All of the seeds I planted in pots or hanging baskets are safe in the garage. The lettuce seeds I planted last weekend in a hanging basket are up and growing and I planted a different kind of lettuce seed in another hanging basket on Thursday. It is outside, but they haven’t sprouted yet and think they will be ok since I put that basket somewhat under the roof of the porch. Time will tell and I’ll be glad when these winds and cold temperatures give us another break.

I’m going now. Take care and God Bless

Edit: Only Raylee is here and she is not happy. I am not sure why is so unhappy but she hasn’t spoken since she arrived with her mom and brother. Her brother decided to go with his Mom and Dad to Sam’s in our state capital. Mickey is at a Christian’s weekend so the one on one weekend isn’t going great yet. I believe she’ll come around as apparently she and her mom had a disagreement before they got here. And if it doesn’t get better, then she can go home tomorrow but she will stay here overnight whether she likes it or not. lol I had some fun stuff planned, but so far, she isn’t receptive. She is the middle child and it is hard to be in the middle so I’ve read. I’ll be patient and let her watch whatever she wants to (within reason) on TV and if she asks, she would be able to get on this computer. Strange as I’ve never seen this side of youngest grand daughter. Guess I’m getting to see all sides of an almost 9 yr old. Oy Vay!

Not crazy at all. You worked very hard, it's only right you take pride in your accomplishment.

you should see me when i accomplish something on my list. i will go back and sit and look at it again and again just so i can be pleased about the way it looks. i've gone into my family room several times today just to look at how nice it looks since i got it cleaned up. when my dishes are done and my kitchen is clean i wander in there just to look at it and how clean it is. i'm hoping i'll be able to come into my bedroom and admire how it looks several times after i'm done. need to make a list. take care,

As a middle child I will suggest that she took the disagreement too personally. When she is done stewing over it she will probably tell you everything and every word that was spoken! That is what we middle children do. She is 9 going on 13!! You are a very good grandma.
