Just checking in in Just in Case

It’s been an active week, so sort of bullet style I’m going update some stuff, because I’m finding it far too easy to come read and not update.
Tootie’s surgery was scheduled for Monday, but the specialist has 4 emergency surgeries. She says Tootie can wait, so she moved it. It’s now scheduled for March 21. I think in some ways she’s relieved, but in others, she’s so ready to have this over. We all are.
The kids at school are doing ok, they’re still struggling at times to face the loss, but they’re getting better. They’re kids, they’re resilient. I talked to one of the 6th grade teachers today about maybe planting a tree in his honor. I’m going to talk to our 4H sponsors (technically I’m a silent sponsor, so I have some pull lol) about the club buying it.
The girls are doing really well and settling in. Of course not any flat surface still has most of the stuff on it that belongs, because they knock them off. I’m typing this around Stella. They both love the laptop. We had thunderstorm with hail today, they didn’t like that. One of their favorite things is getting in the bathtub and having me turn the water on. They are hilarious with it. They snap at it and try to catch it. Then they drink, then they attack again. They are hilarious and make me laugh. Now, they are still a little young and crazy, but they are truly settling in and down. (I did get one of the Jackson Galaxy essential oils that I’m using, mainly on Luna. I’m not sure if it’s really making a difference, but I’m still using it.)
We’re doing a Dr. Seuss day tomorrow for Read Across America.I always think of dressing up, and I never do. Well, this year, I’m dressing up. I’m cheating and doing it easy, a Star Bellied Sneech. A yellow tshirt with a star and white collar. I am going to do the hair up and color it a little and some yellow makeup, but pretty easy. The kids will get a kick out of it.
*Thursday I’m making chocolate chip waffles for my kids who have passed their states test (Identified all 50 states, it’s something I do extra. It’s not a requirement.) Every 6 weeks I do something for those who have made it. At the end of the year, we have a “party” for them. They get to do some fun, messy science and bring the goodies home with them.
Ok, I’ve updated. I will try to do this more often. I guess I just enjoy reading about y’all’s lives more than writing about my own. :)
