Well, I have to say, my last two weekends have been unproductive, but exceptionally relaxing and enjoyable. Last weekend I had the pleasure of celebrating the 80th birthday (I posted her age wrong; Mea Culpa Mrs. Rita) of my former mother-in-law. She is absolutely one of the most wonderful ladies I have ever known, and the entire family made me feel welcome, even to the point of insisting that I take part in the group famiy photo.
Yesterday, I got to attend the grand 3rd birthday celebration of my grandson Micah. Since I didn’t know he existed until March of last year, this was my first birthday with him, and I was more excited than a 55 year old should be, but it is what it is as they say.
To make up for the lost birthdays, I may have overspent just a tad to compensate, but it was worth it.
I was supposed to spend time with Brian afterwards, but he decided to hang out with his friends and asked to move our father-son day to today, so I’ll be heading over there shortly.
I was a tad disappointed, but Brandon got off work early and invited me to go to out to eat Italian with the family, so I still got to spend some great family time.
The topper was that in the mail yesterday, I received two warrant notices for unpaid traffic citations that I absolutely do not remember in the total amount of $897.00. I was explaining to Brandon that I might not be able to help out as much with the legal fees this month, as i CAN’T leave these lying about and it’s a pretty big oomph to the budget right now. Little ears were listening and Reese (6) says, “Grandpa, just start a go-fund-me account and ask people for the money”. I can just see that happening, because I’m all into humiliating myself and begging for money don’tcha know. It’ll all work out, I’m not worried too awfully much.
However, if you need yard work, I’ll drive up for the weekend for extra cash, room and board included of course. Can you drive to Wales from Texas? I’ve wanted to visit for years, but my geography is rusty, lol.
Before closing, of course I must share so that everyone can bask in the beauty of my grandchildren. This first is Micah’s birthday party (He’s the one eating the broom. Give him a break, it was a big day).
This one is Raina, discovering the joys of breadsticks with marinara sauce for the first time.
And now that your weekend is obviously complete, I will say so long and have a wonderful week.
I need tea. ⋅ February 28, 2016
Lovely!
