Girls weekend took on a whole new look this past weekend.
Friday night Chloe and I went with Mike to a bench show…this is a meal/showing of hunting dogs the night before a hunting competition. Chloe loved running around during the meal/social part. She was miserable during the actual bench show because it was outside, right next to a parking lot and too dangerous for her to be “free.” I did not bring her stroller because Mike thought it was an indoor show. Chloe ended up in tears quite a few times and I eventually took her to the truck to drink her milk cup, watch Mickey Mouse on my phone and relax. She went to bed about 2 hours after her bedtime.
Saturday we woke up very early, I convinced Chloe to go back to sleep in my bed and we got up for our day around 8am. Chloe threw numerous fits and accidentally broke Mike’s iPad by getting caught up in the chord while it was charging. I had it at that point. I was drained. After a stressful work week (month), an overwhelming amount of house chores, an upcoming court day for reckless driving, not being pregnant, and everything else; I began to cry. Sob. I then opened the Internet on my phone and booked a hotel for Saturday night in VA beach.
I packed up Chloe, we kissed Mike (I offered for him to come but he already had several things planned for his weekend) and off we went.
Chloe and I went the aquarium and the zoo. We swam in the small indoor pool, we took a long warm bath and ate junk food. Chloe got a small stuffed turtle from the aquarium and a small stuffed giraffe from the zoo. Those were her two favorite animals. She was perfect all weekend, she slept well and she behaved beautifully.
We had a fantastic time. Then we came home.
Sunday at 2pm when we returned home, Mike was passed out on the couch in his clothes, with a black eye, dried blood under his nose, beer bottles covering the coffee table and two dogs needing to be let out to use the bathroom. I woke him and asked what happened….apparently he got drunk at our house went and drank more/argued with one of the guys he was with. He was carried to his bosses house from the hunt club where he was (same property) and slept there on a couch. In the morning he drove home, passed out on our couch and I found him at 2pm still 1/2 drunk and 1/2 hung over. He hurt both knees and could barely function before 8pm last night. He finally showered around 9pm and came to bed. I went to bed as soon as Chloe was asleep (8:30).
He said it wouldn’t have happened if we had been there. I told him he needs to realize he isn’t a teen anymore and to grow up. I have no sympathy.
Today I am off of work due to my reckless driving ticket. I have court in a few hours. Praying it goes well. Mike gave me $300 towards my fees/ticket and I’m praying I don’t need anymore than that.
