It's done. in The days in the life

Yesterday, I took my Cdl test. I was confident, but not overly so. It was broken up into three different parts, pretrip, skills and road test. The pre trip of a school bus is the most important, because you are transporting children to and from school or activities and you are responsible in assuring that you have a safe bus to do so. The skills portion is parallel parking, offset parking and dock or alley parking. I did the first two mentioned. Then the road portion was, student stops (including allowing them to cross safely across the street when it is safe to do so), railroad crossings, and a variety of right and left turns. I can back up a forty foot school bus, smile…

I passed the test.

I cannot believe that the Lord who challenged me with such a huge goal allowed me to attain it. I never would have thought that I could do this. It is only through Him that I have accomplished this. This is hard, very hard. I spent nites sleepless for the most part thinking about everything and it has all been good. There’s still some things that I need to work on, like mountain driving and city (downtown) driving, but I will be able to get all that under my belt before I’d ever be able to go out on my own. I’m very fortunate to have a Father that loves me so. Thank you Lord for everything, I have no complaints whatsoever..

I have just been praying for two things, our farmhouse in California that we will be moving into at the end of the next school semester in May, and for me to become a published author. I know that I said that I would get the software program that I need, but as of right now it’s still a little tight financially speaking to do so. I’ll do it at the end of the month when I get the first paycheque from my new job. I also would like to get a software copy of Dramatica Pro. It’s a creative writing program that I know about but have never been able to really figure out to its potential. I have an older copy that I had made a few years ago, but it doesn’t want to work on my new laptop.

I’m just feeling relieved right now because I have all of the harder stuff behind me. Now it’s just about instilling my training and performing it everyday that matters. I have to work my two eight hour shifts today and tomorrow at my old job. Monday, I have to be at the terminal by 6:45 a.m. Friday next week we have off, and I’ll have Saturday to work at the old job, Sunday off because it’s Valentine’s day and I’m taking my Wife out, and Monday we’ll have off because it’s President’s Day. Five more weeks at the old job and then I’ll be done with them. I’ll have the weekends off after then.

My next things that I want to do are;
Get a motorcycle license.
Get my dive certification.
Learn French.

Cheers,
Cbj
