Although this is in Europe or Scandinavia somewhere, the principle is still the same, like on the US Railroads. This is a “field” welding of rails, whether a replacement is in, or joining the lengths of welded rails, referred to as sticks.
This a machine that welds rails into quarter mile lengths and then, they are loaded onto special rail cars, for transport.
