sitting here 11:39 am and have been up since 3:30 am.
New York. i am back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
outside there is snow falling. made it back to New York before the blizzard of 2016.
there is actually a state of emergency here! getting back here to NY was ANOTHER story in itself that i will explain another time. maybe in the next few days. i am exhausted though. very tired. i just ate breakfast finally or maybe lunch who knows. would not be surprised if i fall asleep soon and wake up in the afternoon. my body clock is quite confused and will see how this sorts out. in the meantime i will probably spend the entire day in bed!!! i want to catch up on my emails and downton also family stuff. i am glad to make it home. even if there is a snow storm going on i am very very glad to be home.

while its fresh in my head i wanted to write a quick note about all of the movies i watched on Emirates. lately when i have flown to Dubai i fly on Emirates. Emirates Airlines are a top 5 best airlines in the world and have honestly some of the best service and experience i have fortunately experienced. they are based out of Dubai U.A.E. and would not surprised if one of the Sheiks or all own the airline. i have been fortunate to fly business class once which was out of this world but coach ALSO is just as nice. Flying on an A380 blows away these 747 flights. I prefer A380s. Emirates sets the standard no question about that. So-----besides flying which i actually ate there is 2 full meals, a snack, and all the drinks in the world you could possibly want the entire ride whether alcohol or not. besides that there is thousands of movies, news, and televisions to watch. SO i wanted to know some of the movies i watched during my course of travel. note they also show plenty of movies that are not out on DVD yet.

12 hours from NYC to Dubai
15 hours from Dubai to NYC

figured i would write it down if anyone wanted to see any of these movies.

The Martian- Oscar nominated movie. I had questioned it being called “a comedy” because I do not believe its one. However a very good movie. Yes there was plenty of funny lines but what would you do to entertain yourself if you were left behind on Mars. I think laughter helped the main character. I think laughter under the most intense, stressful times CAN be a life saver. All in all 100 percent would recommend. Matt Damon and a lot of other great actors in this one. I love Jessica Chastain. She is good in this also.

The Intern- AWESOME movie. I would say very underrated. Robert Deniro and Anne Hathaway. A business movie about the young and old. Heartfelt along with providing the different perspectives of young and older business professionals. I even shed a tear. Robert Deniro was lovable in this movie and so was Anne Hathaway. I would HIGHLY recommend this movie. It will make you laugh and put a smile on your face perhaps shed a tear. Parts of Robert Deniros old school style and charming old ways made me adored him. It reminded me of my father actually the only man I know that still walks around with a handkerchief. I love that about my Dad. This is a great movie!!!

AMY- This is a documentary/biography about Amy Winehouse. Whoever knows me knows I LOVE Amy Winehouse. I mourned her death. I can empathize about her demons in her life. To this day I still listen to Amy. I still believe everyone SHOULD have at least one Amy Winehouse album even though she made a few. I think she is one of those special musicians that just has something special. Oldies with a new twist with an amazing voice. R&B, Ska, Fifties and Sixties influence with a bit of Hip Hop flare. She is one of those greats. In any case the documentary influenced by her father documents her life from when she started to when she passed. Did not know much about her personal life except knowledge of drugs and an extremely lethal and toxic relationship. A lot of music in this documentary but also good and bad moments in her life. Her low moments of struggles to her high moments of achievement. She ultimately was literally harassed by the paparazzi. Loving her and then insulting her in the end. She also was bulimic. She also sadly become a serious alcohol and drug user but had an eating disorder. Had no idea about the eating disorder but noticed she became rather very very thin. Would not be surprised if the eating disorder was elevated with alcohol and drugs. Alcohol and Drugs don’t make you eat. Just the insecurities some of us have wanting to be thin. To be beautiful, to fit in, to look a certain way or fit the standards. We all have our own insecurities just like she did. I think at the end her management needed to cut out all the shows and obligations. It was more like fuck it------fuck the music. Enough with the shows until she got her life better but-------I feel they were more concerned about her musical obligations. Some of which she did NOT want to fulfill. What would you expect? She was totally fucked in the head from drugs and booze-----also in a very volatile relationship that mentally messed her up. Her husband assisted in her downward spiral. Good looking bloke but he also was extremely bad for her with all the drugs and just his background clearly on the wrong path. Armed Robbery with several years in jail leaving her all in this crazy situation left to her own devices. She totally got caught up. I get it. She was really involved with so much drama and drugs she needed to go away. Away from it all. To get better. To clear her head and the negativity surrounded her, get away from her relationship. Why would she care about singing? She needed to get her head right. It did not work out in the end. So much abuse to her fragile body and her mind. I always thought Amy was a beautiful girl but down to earth. Real deal call it how it is. To the point. My kind of a friend I would want to have. Great taste in all respects even if she played with fire. We have all played with fire at one point in our life. Well I think anyways. Her friends must have been devastated to see their girl die in the way she did and they could not do nothing to help her. As we know… in moments like this you the individual need to make the change. She went away to St. Lucia but it was not enough. Had no idea of her close relationship with Mos Def either. In any case you can see how passionate I am about the movie----but also Amy. I watched this movie TWICE on the plane. Back to back. I spent almost 4 hours watching Amy because when she sings the sky opens. Such a talented woman lost at such an early age. Tony Bennett knew how great she was and so many of us. RIP Amy. Whoever appreciates talent, good music, and learning about a no bullshit type of person that lives life through ups and downs. Watch this movie. I will always regret I never saw Amy live in concert. Love you Amy Winehouse.

San Andreas – action type of movie about the fault lines in California. I liked it. I saw on the edge of my seat on the plane. Enjoyed it. I guess when you think about it-----these scenarios are likely to potentially happen but I HOPE they do not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jurassic Park– I loved all of the JP movies and had to watch this one. I love anything dinosaur related but specifically watched to see why the hell after the first one they chose to open the park??????????? So- yes I watched. I liked the movie. No spoilers but has all the action and dinosaur drama one loves if you like dinosaurs! :)

The Visit - M. Knight Shyamalan movie. I won’t spoil but I was disappointed in it. I still think “Signs” is his best movie.

A Royal Night Out - based upon a real life situation on V.E. Day in 1945, as peace extends across Europe, Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret are allowed out to join the celebrations. It was cute and a very interesting way to view Princess Elizabeth and her sister back in the 1940s. This is based upon a true story. I loved it. I love period pieces!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

this is all I could remember! I was going to watch something else but I think I shut it off. thankfully i slept several hours also. sleeping an hour here and there then movie, then sleep, eating, then drinking, reading then movie then sleep. you get it etc.

while i sit here i am starting to feel exhausted.
may make some soup because i almost feel like i am getting sick…or i may just go back to bed.
will catch up with you all at some point.
wow –the wind is really blowing hard out there.
hope maybe Monday is a snow day?
fingers crossed
