More snow, and the like. in Just the ordinary things

We had more snow overnight. It took J two hours to get home last night, so you can guess that I was in a pretty worried state waiting for him. I hate it when he has to drive over the bridge when the weather is bad, and people from the City do not know how to drive in the snow.

Managed to get another review up today, and I am almost finished reading Mastering the Art of Russian Cooking, which is a hoot and a half. I was whooping with laughter reading the chapter on Russians and drinking -- evidently, drinking by yourself is a no-no. And the mayhem that came out when Gorbachev tried to limit vodka to people -- not a pretty picture at all.

Yesterday I was very lethargic and out of it. But this morning was much better -- woke up actually feeling alert, and wanting to get up and get some things done. I did get the kitchen tidied and the dishes washed. I so hate having to stand over the sink doing the washing up -- if there's a lot to do, my back and hip let me know right quick that they're going to get even with me later. All of which adds up to having a bad time of it if I have to cook and do washing all at once.

I need to get J dressed and off to the market -- I do hope that he picks up dinner (I'm not wanting to cook at all tonight) and noshes. I also want to finish MtAoRC. and at least start the notes for the review.

And started watching a new K-drama on Netflix -- The Great Doctor aka Faith, a time-slip involving a modern doctor who is kidnapped back into the 14th century to save the life of a queen. So far, it's great fun -- I'm about five episodes in, the art and costuming is great, but the heroine is a real ditz at times, and I ache to give her a good smack now and then.
