holidays just suck anymore in Trying to get back into writing

The holidays just seem to suck anymore. the older you get the worse they seem to get. Thanksgiving had been a mess with matt getting into it with his parents to the point we walked out. christmas wasnt quite that bad but we did find out matts dads bypass surgery earlier this year was a failure. the left side of his heart is almost dead. it only has a 14% function to it. the right side seems ok. his dads gonna be 65 next year. hes drinking himself to death and doesn’t seem to care that his surgery didnt work. it wrecked the mood yesterday. matt wouldnt tell me more and i know theres more to it. i think he just needs to come to terms that his dad doesnt want to live and that hes had enough of taking care of opa. I seriously could cry right now just thinking about how upset matt was last night driving home.
