Hello! I’ve been away for awhile because I finally had the baby! Frederick Daniel came into the world early on Wednesday, 11/18, at 1:21am. He was 7 lbs, 7 oz and 19 inches long. hes got a full head of hair, a good set of lungs and is a pooping machine lol.
Freddie will be 2 weeks old on Wednesday. Its hard to believe that its been 2 weeks since i gave birth. its been the craziest 2 weeks of my life, but i couldnt be happier. im honestly not overwhelmed. i try to really listen to my baby to figure out what he needs. there are definitely different cries! the biggest issue my poor boy has is gas. hes so gassy (just like his mama lol). but hes a pretty good sleeper and hes a good eater. trying to get him a little more awake during the day so he sleeps a little longer at night, but its difficult. he sleeps when he wants to sleep.
ill write about my birth experience another day. baby is sleeping in my lap right now as i type this. i need to get going and get some work done today, after a little walk down the block.
im just glad giving birth is over and hes here. its been wonderful being a mom. i cant even describe the feeling i have for this kid. its a whole different kind of love ive never experienced. its surreal to look at him and think he was in my body. i pushed him out and now hes reliant on me for everything! hubby is happy too. hes just been working non stop (busy season for the funeral business unfortunately) and ended up not getting the full week off like he was supposed to. he is also getting over a cold the last few days. hopefully he’ll be better soon and can help me a little more at night.
im so happy. hes so wonderful and perfect. its amazing what our bodies can do and how we can bring life into the world. im going to be so sad when i go back to work. i want to stay home for the rest of the year as of right now. 6 weeks is not enough time to heal and be ready to work! sigh
