I heard some sad news from my youngest daughter by text, yesterday morning and a visit an hour later.

My daughter had received a texted saying that the horse she had cared for and rode for 14 years, had just been put down. This was unexpected as the horse had been happy and well just the day before. My daughter was devestated and struggled to complete her home visit. Once finished she came her for a good cry and to express her shock, where she could feel safe. She then had to return to her office and thankfully she could be alone mostly for rest of the day, as it was an admine day.

She had one more home visit to do late afternoon, Then she returned here again and joined me and hubby for our evening meal. She stayed till 9pm but then needed to go home to finish paper work and organise things for her team for the next day.

The horse belonged to a family friend and sadly none of the family wanted to ride their horse, so she agreed to exercise the horses as and when she could, so it had been this way for 14 years. She had seen the horse by chance on the Sunday as she had picked Archie up for us from their kennels. Myleene, the horse had been kicking of in the stable because she new she was there. So she spent time with Myleene, grooming her and giving her the lasted the sugar lumps she had in her car for Myleene, before bringing Archie home.

The poor horse must have had a stroke over night and veg had come straight out and put her down. My daughter was pleased that by chance she had got to spend time with Myleene the day before. Life will never be the same for my daughter again, she will miss her greatly.

Her fiancé is a senior army captain and away training at moment, I guess this us the first hurdle they gave had to face alone and will give them some idea of what life will be like for them.

Life moves on and we must move with it!

It must have been a shock - and such an old friend - it was good you were there to offer sympathy and support
