Well, as of today, I am 55. Hard to believe since only yesterday I was in high school.
The day started on a very melancholy note. I checked my Facebook and it showed a memory post last year from Bradley that read as follows:
“Hey everyone, so today is the birthday of one of the greatest and strongest men I have ever had the pleasure to know. John Frazier, my father, may not be perfect just like most people, but he is one of the strongest and most caring people in the world. Even though most of the time I don’t deserve it, he still loves and helps me and my new family in any way we need. He is one of the only people that I can not stand to live without. He is my rock, my friend my father and my first true love. So please join me today in congratulating the greatest father who I could not live without. I love you dad, hapy birthday :)”
Needless to say, I had forgotten this since last year and seeing it so soon after losing Bradley got me pretty emotional.
However, my other children had planned a get together to suprise me, and for the third time in as many weeks arranged not only to have all of my grandchildren present, but presented me with a beautiful portrait with all six of them included. It was quite possibly the most precious gift they could have given me.
I will upload it soon for those who would like to see, because believe it or not, I have some of the most beautiful grandchildren in the world. No, seriously; I’m not kidding, they truly are.
It helped to remind me that in spite of all that life can throw in our paths, we still have much to be grateful for and to treasure.
Everyone have a safe and happy weekend. Goodnight for now.
