Today was a crazy busy day. I started out with one appointment scheduled and ended up with 3 (2 is a reasonable number for Medicine), with one of my patients staying in the ICU for supportive care. Got to the hospital at 7:30 am and didn’t eat lunch until 4:15. Bleh.
ICU patient broke my streak of hitting vessels my first time trying for every blood draw I’ve done thus far on this rotation. However, the technicians also had a hard time with getting blood from him, so that made me feel better. The tech who drew his blood said it was one of the weirdest veins she’d ever come across. The Medicine techs are some of the most amazing techs I have ever worked with. They are so good at everything, they’re great teachers, and they’re very kind and patient with us students. I love them.
I’ve got three long discharges to write and all I want to do is go to bed.
1 week until NAVLE. Eek!
