Day Four: What was the last vacation you took?
We had a nice weekend in Jasper for our Anniversary this past July. We’ve had numerous weekends away in the past years, but our last real, go away for a week vacation hasn’t happened in a long, long time. It was the summer after my Mom died so so almost 12 years ago now. It truly was one of the oddest summers I had ever had, dealing with grief is always odd. Things were strangely peaceful and the kids, HubbyMan and I, our friends the Cancellors and their nephew all went away to a lakeside cabin for a week, it was gorgeous. We had an awesome time as a family together. We spent the days out swimming or hiking, we went to Petroglyph Provincial Park and saw ancient stone drawing, it really was a great vacation.
When we arrived home my Dad couldn’t wait to tell me about his stupid date, ugh. And then the peace all ended.
