Wow…on October 31st, Nils and I start our two week journey to Australia. We’ve been talking about it for two years, doing serious planning for nine months, and now it’s almost here!
Hey TerriBerri! We are laying over in LA for two days. I know you are crazy busy, and expecting your grandson any moment, but I’d so love love love to swing by and drop off the baby present in person!
Since we all started this journey together, I’ve met up with Gina in Arkansas a few times, am planning a visit to Jael in Ohio, and now might get the chance to meet my Terri! Michael S....be warned, you are next on my list! (Grin) Michigan is right next door!
I think meeting the people we’ve been ‘following’ for years is so very cool. If you are not at the hospital with you and yours, let me know if you will be around either Sunday the 1st or Monday the 2nd. We fly out of LAX Monday night at 10:30pm and land in Australia 15 hours later, which will actually be 8:00 AM on Wednesday morning there. I’ll lose a whole day.....crazy to think about.
So, have any of my peeps been to Australia? Or anyone have any ‘must see’ things we should do during our two and a half days in LA? Other than a trip the Sydney Opera house, we are leaving ourselves wide open so we can just ‘experience’ things. To me, a vacation is not a vacation if it is scheduled to the minute.
Checking things off of my bucket list, one at a time. I’m also taking Tabitha, Sabrina and Nicholas for a week in the Keys in January of 2016. I’m contemplating early retirement at 55, so I’m trying to cram in a lot of travel the next five years, while I can still use paid vacation and come home to a full paycheck. I may live poor, but I think travel is one of the best ‘investments’ I can make in myself. With all of the frequent flier miles I’m getting in 15 and 16…we can probably fly somewhere awesome in 2017 too. So many places in this big, big world.
