It’s happened....as quick as the estate agent said. We have SOLD!

Had 3 viewings this last week. First one was a guy on his own, cos his other half was in another town and couldn’t get back in time. Very non-commitals, but said he would probably be back with his wife. The same evening a couple came round. They had a house on the next street over from us but wanted to down size as the house was too big for the two of them. They made appreciative responses, seemed to like the place....but they hadn’t even put their house on the market. Apparently, they will be doing so this week. But it will be too late, as Viewer No.1 was true to his word and came round again on Friday evening with his good lady in tow. Spent a good while looking around again after I’d given her the tour and sales spiel ( aaah memories!). From the comments as they left, it sounded like they had seen another one that they also liked. Their situation was that they had sold their house and were living in short-let rental accommodation and would like to proceed ASAP.
We got a call from the estate agents this morning and they had made an offer that was £10,000 under what we had advertised. After a little negotiation, they upped their offer by £5,000 and that’s it, we agreed so it is sold. Now we need to find a place for us!!
To this end, Lee and I are going to Cornwall on Thursday for a long weekend and hope to view some on Friday and Saturday, ready to head back on Sunday.

And now the panic sets in! So many things to think about. Removals, cancelling insurances, solicitors, packing, quitting my job........I need to make lists! LOL
Have to say, though, we are really excited about everything. I’m even looking to the 300+-mile motorbike ride to take my bike down there! Of course, by the time it’s all sorted we will be in the throes of winter. Timing never was my forte!

It is still upsetting Paula, but at least we are able to talk about it now. Of course, we have to tell the grandkids now and that is not gonna be a nice time, but it has to be done. I am sure they will be resilient enough to cope with it eventually. Kids seem to be like that don’t they?

Well, I just had to put that out there. All plans are coming together and it seems the dream is ever closer. I’ll let you know how we get on down in Cornwall next week.

Stay Safe, peeps.
