i have not written in there since june~! wow.
well i went to the movies one evening late in california and saw this fantastic movie.
while i wanted to see “everest” i chose this one instead because it was about NY my home but more specifically our beloved twin towers.
this was by far a very interesting and artistic movie in a different artistic form. i enjoyed it very much so. this is what it is about.
“in 1974, high-wire artist Philippe Petit recruits a team of people to help him realize his dream: to walk the the immense void between the World Trade Center towers.”
it is based upon a true story of this french artist who walked between the world trade center (twin towers). he did this completely illegally and was able to make his way up to the towers to walk across. incredible story and to see the events up until the day of the “coup” - was really intriguing! i won’t give it away of what occured but i would say its worth 2 hours to watch it. i would consider this an independent film probably with the masses uninterested in watching it but --------you should!
i should also say the actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt did a phenomenal job playing Petit and make the story really come alive. note a small part of this story is in French so dont get all huffy and puffy about it.. it is translated at the bottom. remember this Frenchman had admiration for the towers. i saw it in i-max and all i can say is wow–he was up so high into the sky and it was a breeze for him. nothing but a cool breeze.
