“Only those who risk going too far
can possibly find out how far they can go.”
That’s been me for a few days now.
For over week now I’ve had really bad shoulder pain in my right shoulder. Not known whether it’s arthritis or muscle strain, but it hasn’t been getting any better no matter what painkillers/anti-inflammatories I’ve been taking. So that’s why I haven’t been writing much.
Yesterday we drove down to Cornwall, over 300 miles. For once Dawn took over some of the driving. She doesn’t normally drive , especially long-distances, but she wanted to take some of the strain off my shoulder. she took the first stint, I drove, the second, then she took over again. I drove the last half hour as it was starting to get dark and Dawn doesn’t like driving in the dark. We both did about 2 1/2-3 hours each.
It was also Furby’s first excursion to Cornwall, and the longest he has travelled in a car. He was brilliant. Started off on my knee as the other two were on the back seat, but wasn’t happy there and wanted to be with the others, so we put him in with them. Then after about an hour he started making noises, trying to tell us something, so we pulled in to some services for our first stop. At these stops we always let the dogs have a walk on the grass around the car parks, and he ended up doing a “No 2”!So he was telling us he wanted a crap! Bless him. After that we never heard a peep from him. He was brilliant.
We’re down here for 10 days, going back on Monday 28th, and while here we are going to arrange to sell our static caravan in preparation for moving down here. We have told Lee of the plans and he is all for it. We have already started looking t some houses and will probably view a few while we are down here.
If we can sell the caravan quick enough it will give me leeway to actually quit my job and concentrate full time on the Journalism. I’ve already had 3 articles accepted and am presently waiting to hear from a further 4 editors , so am more than confident that I will be successful at this.
I’ll leave you with couple of photos I took this weekend. The first is from the car on the way here, and the next from this morning at 6.15 after the dogs got us us up!
Stay Safe, Peeps.
