I would like to apologise for my scream last weekend; it was unprofessional and the kind of thing that pisses me off on Facebook but I needed to let it out somewhere other than directly at my darling children.

By the end of Sunday they found themselves banned from screens for two weeks and it went a day at a time..!

We’ve had a lovely day today, we went on a bike/roller blade ride (Lila and Talaia respectively) which involved Talaia deciding to go downhill, steeply downhill, at full speed. She shrieked with glee as she went!

We went to town to pick up Lila’s new glasses and her new baby doll that she paid for with money that she’s been saving. On top of that Talaia needed new school trainers.

And for girly night, obviously a movie was out since they’re banned from screen time so I printed out a list of questions to get your kids talking about school and we took turns to choose and ask.

Questions such as “which one of your teachers would survive the zombie apocalypse and why?”as well as “if an alien spaceship came, which of your classmates would your want be taken away by it and why?”. We had loads of fun with it 😊

However, last week, this is how I felt.

*edit. I’ve been asked about the school questions so here goes.

What did you eat for lunch?

Did you catch anyone picking their nose?

What games did you play at break?

What was the funniest thing that happened today?

Did anyone do anything super nice for you?

What was the nicest thing you did for someone else?

Who made you smile today?

Which one of your teachers would survive a zombie apocalypse? Why?

What new fact did you learn today?

Who brought the best food in their lunch today? What was it?

What challenged you today?

If school were a ride at the fair, which ride would it be? Why?

What would you rate your day on a scale of 1 to 10? Why?

If one of your classmates could be the teacher for the day who would you want it to be? Why?

If you had the chance to be the teacher tomorrow, what would you teach the class?

Did anyone push your buttons today?

Who do you want to make friends with but haven’t yet? Why not?

What is your teacher’s most important rule?

What is the most popular thing to do at break?

Does your teacher remind you of anyone else you know? How?

Tell me something you learned about a friend today.

If aliens came to school and beamed up 3 kids, who do you wish they would take? Why?

What is one thing you did today that was helpful?

When did you feel most proud of yourself today?

What rule was the hardest to follow today?

What is one thing you hope to learn before the school year is over?

Which person in your class is your exact opposite?

Which area of your school is the most fun?

Which playground skill do you plan to master this year?

Does anyone in your class have a hard time following the rules?

Everyone vents here:-) . On PB you do not have to be " professional ". Banned from screens ? Good in theory but it would kill me ( I think) :-) but of course I could spend more time reading then. I always have to be reading somewhere :-) interesting school questions !

Hilarious video. I agree that you don't have to be professional here.

Way to put your foot down with the screen time!

Meh. Your journal should be your Safe Place, while Facebook should not to be a dumping ground!

The ban of screens in general is good. My nephew gets banned from his iPad, which he does get extremely upset about, but he'll just go on a computer then or play video games.

2 weeks, one day at a time? My goodness, that would be a rough day.
