so i thought that this was over, but apparently not. today at work i got yet another call from a “legal” department saying that they have a debt from 2011 and i owe them 910.00 plus court costs and legal fees if i cant pay now. they want to get my side of things for their files before they send the papers to be served. she also asked me if i had ever been indited for check fraud in my state or any other state. i got no info and asked for them to verify the debt. they said they would through email. i told her that it was only legal to do so through mail. she said if i want to be like this then i can just go to jail and that they will be there in a few hours to serve papers at my address. this time they had my address. they never have had this before. that freaked me out. i stood my ground and told her i would be home later tonight and i will be waiting for them. so far nothing has happened, but like i said this is the first time that they my address and i kind of freaked out. worried that i would be home or worse not home and Stef would have to deal with this crap. i told her about it and she talked me down. i love her so much.
after i got off the phone with her i looked up the number and company name and found that this is a huge scam and this exact call, all the details and threats and jail time and everything is the same all over the USA. i cant believe that they are getting away with this. i called and got all 888 numbers blocked from me and my wifes phones as well as filed another complant with the FCC and FTC against th origional company and the people that just called me threatening to put me in jail for 8 to 12 months. i really hate that there are people out there that do this crap and actualy get away with this. i hope these people get caught and get strung up by their toes and beaten with reeds.
