Summer comes to an end. in My life both public and private!

Hard to believe it is Labor Day already. It was a fun summer. First one when I didn’t work as a waitress, didn’t take classes and really just hung out at home and the shore. Started back at school on Wednesday of last week. Have an in service day tomorrow and then start back w/ students on Wednesday.

Also very strange not having a full time class and seeing 25 little faces every morning. Just doesn’t seem right to me. Because it is so early in the year I haven’t even had one child come to my Designated Assignment room. I have basically spent the first three days meeting w/ the child study team, doing gym, lunch duty, and dismissing classes at the end of the day. I just don’t feel like I am part of the school anymore. I know as I start to get students I will feel more into it. Just having a difficult transition right now. I have also been told that I will also get some children from the 3rd-5th grade to work w/. Not sure if they will come to our school or I will have to go that school and work there. This is really a new program so there are still a lot of the details to be worked out. But so far it is pretty frustrating.

Lets see. Had a lot of fun in Martha’s Vineyard. Jake fit right in. Is nice to my parents and got along w/ my brother. We went bike riding, ran every day, went to the beach, out for breakfast, drove to the light house, cooked a lobster dinner for everyone. Just had a nice and relaxing time. I don’t cook so all I did for the lobsterfest was fill the pot w/ water. Also bought the shrimp, potato salad and set the table. I am thinking this should count as cooking a meal. Yah me!!!!!!!!!!!

Also spent a long weekend in Asbury Park. Ran a race there w/ some of my girlfriends and then stayed for 3 nights. Was a lot of fun. I am very pale and have red hair so I don’t tan. My friends in hs called me Casper the friendly ghost. But it was fun. Went to the beach everyday. Ate at a really nice place called McCloone’s. Went to the Stone Pony and saw a band at the out door theatre there. Just had a fun few days.

Also spent 5 days in Stone Harbor w/ Jake and his family. That was also fun. Went to Cape May and saw the light house. Ate at the Lobster House. Went to the Princeton Room in Avalon. Rode bikes. Went to the beach almost everyday. Read two books. Went to the zoo and wild life preserve. Ate way too much. But had a nice time. Summer goes so fast!

Jake asked me to run the Philly Marathon w/ him. He has never done a marathon. I have done 5 of them. I am hesitant because I am not sure I want to still be dating him in 3 months. But I am horrible at saying no. I just hate to hurt anyone. So I really don’t know what to do. I put him off saying I am not sure I can get ready in time. And now don’t judge me. I had another guy ask me out and we have gone on a couple of dates. We are going out today to bike ride on the Columbia Trail, take Bella for a long walk and then go to a brew pub in Long Valley for lunch and a couple of beers. We can take Bella and sit outside at the brew pub. Bella is my Shiatsu rescue. I am not a big drinker but I do like sitting outside and having lunch and drinks.

My problem w/ Jake is he is just not very assertive. I always have to take the lead. And there are times I really don’t want to do that. Also he seems to have no interest in anything more than taking a shower together and holding hands. I know I sound like a horny teenager but I need more than holding hands. New guy is more assertive and I am sure if I offer him a bj he will be all over it. Jake not so much. So I am conflicted. Oh well after todays date I will see what I am feeling. Worse part of all this is I am going to meet Jake in about an hour and go for a long run. He wants to see if he is really ready to train for a marathon. Then I have to get home, shower, and get ready for a bike ride. I hate to mislead anyone. But I already told Jake I was busy today w/ family stuff so after the run I need to get home.

Well enjoy the last day of summer all. Went way too fast. Hope everyone had a great summer!
