As I walked along the ledge, encompassing the yard,I spotted a mulberry, fallen from the bush, turned tree, reminding me of a past that seems like yesterday;while, at the same time appears to be long-forgotten. The Mulberry’s function is no longer to enthrall the youngster; but more to provide excellent mulch for the upcoming season. The mulch had created a lawn that was as healthy as can be. This lawn, didn’t belong to me; however, it was very dear to my heart. I could hardly bear to prune it’s branches in the coming fall. Still, I did! They grew and I pruned.

Of course, this tree was healthy and happy, bringing about new limbs and even new mulberries that provided great fun for the children to throw at one another, there was even a new root system, thanks to the hearty root supplies of this lonely little bush-turned to a happy healthy tree.
