And so we say bye-bye to another working week. This has been a proper one for change. I’ve been out every day and done a lot of paperwork in between times, so I feel better about it now. Also had a few referrals come through which is heartening.
At the same time I’ve been able to finish off another article, had more feedback from my Tutor about my assignments ( still on the right track) Had an article proposal turned down ( bad timing) and one lukewarmly accepted with a lot of good advice from the Assistant Editor of the magazine. So all in all, a productive week.
Dawn is really supportive of this new choice of career and often gives me ideas for articles (most I’ve thought of myself but I don’t let her know that!) and some are really good ones. It’s fantastic to know she is always behind me no matter what I do in life. Couldn’t think of anyone better to have beside me for life! ‘Scuse me while I get soppy!
Weather is starting to get cooler now. Apparently it’s going to be dry with a little breeze this weekend. I’m hoping to get out on the bike and give Logan (eldest grandsprog) his first experience of two wheels. It’s been a fight with Paula to allow it but I managed to win that one. She picked up a proper bike jacket for him off E-Bay, he’s already got some decent boots to wear, and Dawn’s old helmet fits him nicely. We won’t be going far this first time, just give him a taster of the freedom biking brings to see how he likes it. It will be interesting.
Kids have gone back to school this week. Logan had to go in a couple of days earlier than his peers as he had been chosen as a “buddy”for the incoming newbies. Quite an honour as they only pick the good ones! He makes us proud. Growing up too quickly but into a really decent young lad.
Talking of growing up, already we can see a difference in the little Furball! Looking at pictures of when he first arrived, it’s amazing to see how much he’s grown just in 6 weeks. He’s very nearly the same size as Honey already and his strength is developing too. So funny to see the two of them chasing each other around the garden.
Nights are drawing in rapidly. It’s only 19.30 and already it’s starting to get dark. Luckily I’ll be travelling in daylight going to the ferry as I have to be there by 19.00. And I arrive early the next morning so it will be daylight again! This time next week I will be spending my first night in Germany for 2 years. I’ll probably celebrate with some of my buddies who will be arriving on the same day. Must remember that German beer is stronger than British!
OK folks, that’s all for now.
Stay Safe , Peeps.
