ever look through your old facebook photos? if you havent lately and feel like taking a trip down memory lane, i recommend it!

just looked at a bunch of old pictures of me and my husband before we were husband and wife…even before we were engaged. he had long hair, we looked so young and we looked so different! different than we are now, different towards each other…looking at some of those pictures you wouldnt have thought we would end up married and starting a family, yet here we are!

ive been in NYC now almost 10 years…itll be 10 years in august 2016. wow…so one more year…wow! A LOT has changed in 10 years.

  1. i broke up with my long term boyfriend and started dating my husband
  2. my hair has gone through more transformations than i thought…there was a bob period, a pink/blonde/brown striper period, a side bands period, a straight across bangs period and now the super short period…
  3. ive gone through almost 5 jobs (if you want to separate ETM and DOE)
  4. i finished both my BA and my MA in music at 2 different schools
  5. ive gone through a bunch of friends…there were some people in pictures i remembered but dont remember their name
  6. i went through my cheerleading phase…i started the cheerleading squad at hunter college…as far as i know its still there…but it was fun to see those pictures again
  7. i still have a lot of the same friends i met in college, some of which i just hung out with over the weekend!
  8. i got engaged and married and im having a baby with my husband
  9. ive lived in 6 places (wow!)…4 apartments and twice with family
  10. ive matured as a person…its funny how you can see that in pictures. in the past few years, there has been a lot less drunk and party pictures and a lot more friends, family and small pleasures pictures.

as i approach motherhood and my 30’s (in a few years), its interesting to look back on the last few years. ive really set up a life here, away from my blood family and started my own family. ive started my career and made progress in that area. i dunno…its fun to look back.

i was also looking back and thinking “wow, i thought i was heavy then” or “i was more fit than i thought” or “i really was so pretty”…i need to remember that im pretty and i can work on the fitness. but sometimes life gets in the way of working out and i need to make sure it doesnt. ill be better for it and so will my baby and my husband…hes been saying he wants to work out too. we’ve both put on some pounds, but nothing that either of us really noticed about each other.

i need to upload all of the pictures of me and dann onto my computer and make him a photo book or something…maybe for our 10 year anniversary? we’ve been together almost 8 years, married just over a year. i think it would be a nice keepsake. its funny how we take all these pictures now a days, yet no one ever has these pictures to keep. we post them, maybe look at them a couple of times and then we forget about them. people used to make photo albums and scrapbooks and look at those pictures occasionally. now…its different. kinda strange how we’re always taking pictures now, but rarely look at them…anyway…photo book for our 10 year anniversary. i think it’ll be fun :)

alright…got professional development in the morning…probably a day full of singing and playing music games :) later!
