Soul Surfer

I watched Soul Surfer last night.

Yep.

I got misty. Mostly over her frustration, and her families frustration that there is nothing you can do about something that has already happened.

It is a very inspirational story. It is up there with The peaceful Warrior in that genre.

It didn’t hurt that the actresses playing Bethany Hamilton and Alana Blanchard were pretty little blonde twenty-somethings. Actually a middle aged mans fantasy.

But the story was awesome. The strength, then weakness and doubt back to strength and finally victory. The outro scenes - actual footage from various home videos just reinforced what an amazing woman Bethany is.

I am not a religious person. I consider myself culturally Christian, and somewhat spiritual.

I have seen things that I can’t explain.

Most atheists I know are belligerent, and don’t even entertain the idea that there are some things science can’t explain.

I’ll give them the “Yet.”

But the explanations are unlikely to come in our lifetimes. So I’ll give the almighty his due.

There is a girl out there who had her doubts. But knew. Deep down. With that knowledge totally kicked ass.
