Monday arrives with all its promise of a wonderful new working week….NOT.
I’m seriously over this working for a living thing now. Just give me money to live my life at home please! Like that’s gonna happen. LOL
Today I am at home again, with a fair bit of work today. Every week we check each others notes. We get paired up with one of our colleagues and make sure we’re writing the right things to a) make sure we’re following protocol and b) we’re not leaving ourselves open to any possible transgression. Then every 3 months we are paired with a different colleague for a Peer Review. This is where we read through each others databases, picking patients at random , to ensure that they are completed properly, with no omissions. In these days where patients are allowed to look through their medical notes if they request, we need to be certain that we dot the ‘i’s’ and cross the ’t’s’. It’s all to do with Clinical Governance basically. In actual fact, I believe, it is a good thing and makes sure we are kept on the ball to do the “paperwork” properly.
Today I have been doing a Peer Review with a colleague that only joined us 3-months ago and it is her first one. She was supposed to have been shown how to do it by the guy who is our “Peer Review Lead”. Needless to say, I had to show her round the database and show her what to do. Luckily we have the ability to share desktops even though we’re miles apart, and that’s what we did. She is a lot more confident now and thanked me for showing her the ropes. Well, one of my positions within the team is Database Lead, so if I didn’t know my way around it there’d be trouble!
So although I am at home, I have been working. But it is nice to stop fir a cuppa when I want, and not to have to drive miles for an appointment (which I have to do on Wednesday)!
It’s now early evening, nothing more exciting happened and I’m now sitting watching my favourite football team, Liverpool, on the tellybox.
The dogs have been going berserk for the last hour and now they’re all flaked out sleeping. I suppose they’ll wake up just before bedtime again!
Anyway, catch you later, peeps.
Stay Safe
