Me and the boys were out of the house for 8 hours today and now at 7:30pm I'm absolutely exhausted. Like so bad I just want to go to bed. But Cody is still up lol. But that also sucks because I really enjoy my alone time once the boys are in bed. It's such a luxury to just lie on the couch under a super soft blanket and watch a movie and munch on a treat that I wouldn't be able to eat with Cody around.
So this morning we had Cody's speech therapy appointment which was an assessment. Afterwards the doctor told me he seems 100% fine and suggested we read him at least 5 books a day and do flashcards with him. This is because he's 28 months and only knows 6 words and barely ever says them in case anyone didn't know that. So yeah....the doctor said that and suggested I call somewhere else for actual speech therapy since he just does the assessment. He told me to get a book and write down the date whenever Cody says a new word and then go see him again in 3 months. Well, since he hasn't learned a new word in over 6 months it seems to me like that notebook might remain empty for a while. Meh whatever, he'll learn when he wants to.
I lost another 3 pounds this week and I'm not 189.8lbs. Woo hoo :) I really think the squats, burpees and plank I do daily is helping. I'm on day 20 of them which is killing me because there's so many now but it's worth it I suppose. Soooo not in the mood to do it tonight.
We bought a fake Christmas tree tonight that was on sale for $110 but is usually $230. It's up right now and I'm trying to decide if I like it or not. There looks to be a lot of holes in it. Maybe I need to try to fluff the branches more? I dunno. Are you supposed to be able to see the centre of it? It just doesn't look full enough. Maybe I need to play around with it a bit. We're going to have it for years so I really need to decide if it's nice enough or not.
I went to a meetup today with a bunch of ladies I've been talking to online on a facebook group since I got pregnant. There was about 9 of us and our babies are all the same age and it was pretty funny cuz we're part of a larger group of ladies and once we got there and were talking we realized all 9 of us had boys. How weird is that? It was nice to talk to other women with babies the same age but Miles was a bit of a crank since he'd been out of the house since the morning and hadn't had a proper nap. I can tell he was exhausted because he went to bed with no problems at all tonight and hasn't made a peep since when usually you have to go pop the soother back in his mouth every now and then. At the lady's house he screamed now and then and totally refused a bottle I had pumped. A lot of the women were nursing so it was no big deal for me to nurse him also but he's definitely never refused a bottle before.
We had a date night last night and it was so awesome!! We went to see the 2nd Hunger Games movie Catching Fire and I was so riveted by it that I barely even thought about missing Miles. It was definitely one of the best book to movie adaptations I've ever seen. My husband is the annoying type that is constantly saying "why did she do that?" or "who is that guy?" haha which is when I told him he should've watched the first movie over again to refresh his memory. I've read the series 2 or 3 times so I knew everything that was going on. It was a long movie (2.5 hours I think) but I honestly wasn't bored for a minute. Woo hoo to date nights!
My husband and I were also bad and even though we don't have a lot of extra money right now we bought ourselves a tablet for Christmas. It's a Samsung Galaxy Note 8. We couldn't resist because our friend works at Rogers so we were able to get it for $200 when it normally costs $400. So excited!!
Must go and try not to collapse now.....whew!
