Just goes to show you that even after 33 years you never really know a woman! LOL
After surprising me with the idea of the RV living, and getting really excited about it, Dawn has done a bit of a U-turn and said what she REALLY wants to do is keep with bricks and mortar but move to Cornwall!!
Now regular readers will know our youngest daughter lives there and we also have our static caravan there too. There is no doubt about it, Cornwall is a fantastic county and I would happily live there . I’m a little disappointed we won’t be travelling, but that’s just the wanderlust in me that will always want to see different lands and cultures, but the sensible side of me can also see the attraction of having a solid base around us. So Cornwall it is. Still probably on the same time line, around the end of the year. The BIG wrench will still come from “leaving” Paula and the grandsprogs. I think she may find it even worse with us moving to Cornwall, closer to Vicki, but we hope she sees that we are doing it for US, not anyone else.
We had this bungalow valued last week, Lee’s suggestion, so I think he realises we want to move now too. The Estate Agent (Realtor) valued it at £80,000 more than we paid for it 2 1/2 years ago! Nice one. It means we will be able to get a decent place down there for us and Lee will still have a big chunk to get himself a place wherever he wants to go. He doesn’t know if he will stay up here or move back down to Cornwall again. He did have a better social life down there, so we’ll see.

Furby, the pup, is still doing well, and all animals seem to be getting on better together now after a bit of a sticky start. They run around like mad things and have good ol’ play fights between them. Sometimes it gets a little serious but it’s soon forgotten and they get back to being friends again. He has grown in the 5 weeks we’ve had him and at the vet early this week he weighed 2 kilos more! I think we feed him too well! LOL

The Journalism course is still going well, and I submitted my second assignment this week. It was my first proper article and I am waiting for feedback as we speak. This may even be one that gets published later in the course, if I can find a magazine interested enough.
I’ve also just entered a short story competition writing a ghost story. The prize is £200 and publication of the story. Fingers crossed , it may be a start!
One of the online forums I belong to suggests that I “keep a daily diary” as it could be good source of material later on down the line. I always used to keep a diary years ago, but this went by the wayside when I joined the RAF.
So you may have to get used seeing a post everyday from now on. At least, I WILL make a concerted effort this time.

Today was a good day. I took a day’s leave and went to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, near Cambridge. I’ve been there a few times before but today I took Logan, the eldest Grandsprog. I took him the the Science Museum last year and he enjoyed that, and I saw he paid particular interest in the Aviation exhibits there, so this year it was to an Aviation Museum. Duxford has a fantastic collection of aircraft from WW I, WW II as well as civilian aircraft including a Concorde. We had a great time and I am sure I must have bored the pants of him with histories of most of the aircraft there. Aviation is a HUGE interest of mine, obviously with my RAF background, but I have always been interest in aircraft from a very early age anyway. He says I didn’t but I did feel a bit like a teacher sometimes!!

Well, it’s back to the daily grind tomorrow. Had a pretty horrific week so far. Travelled 2 1/2 hours to Oxford on Monday only to find the patient wasn’t at home. Couldn’t get her on the phone so suspect she has gone on holiday. Then Tuesday I had a meeting with the nurses at one of the hospitals I cover. Appointment had been made 3 months ago for a time when both would be available. I got there and managed to see one nurse flying between one room and another. She apologised but the other nurse had gone on holiday and the secretary was off sick so she was on her own and we would have to re-book. She said she had sent me an e-mail. When I got back to the car I checked on my phone. The email was sent at 12.26 for a 13.00 appointment. I had left home at 11.30! I was bit miffed to say the least. Oh well, C’est la vie, as the saying goes.
Till tomorrow (hopefully) peeps. Stay safe.
