Cody turned 4 recently and I can’t believe how much mischief he still gets into. It’s enough to drive you crazy sometimes! This morning before I got out of bed he climbed into Miles’ crib, undressed them both down to their diaper and night time pull up and he smeared poop on both of them from his diaper in about 5 different spots on their chests. Grossssssssss! Why are boys so freaking GROSS? It was super fun cleaning them up and then scrubbing it out of his nails when I had just woken up. Blegh....I can’t even count the number of times he has done things that have shocked me but the number is pretty high. I remember when he was like 12 months or something I was with him at the grocery store and I turned to get something off a shelf and he grabbed a blueberry pie I had in the cart, somehow opened it very quickly and so I turned around to see him shoving fistfuls of pie in his face LOL. What a kid!
He is obsessed with the clouds and raining right now. Every day at some point he says to me “I see dark clouds!” As if he expects it to rain every day just because he might have seen one itty bitty dark cloud lol. Then if it DOES rain he gets all excited to put some of his cars on the balcony so they can have a car wash lol. You’d think that would entertain him once but no, he gets SO EXCITED every time it does actually rain. Like today lol. What a nut!
I recently took Cody to the movies for the first time!! I realized one day that he’s probably finally old enough to go see a movie at the theatre and I got so excited about it and wanted to go right away because I absolutely LOVE going to the movies! My cousin wanted to take her 2.5 year old daughter too so we went and saw “Inside Out” because we didn’t really want to see the Minions. Cody gets so crazy excited about every little thing these days, it’s pretty awesome :) I bought him a kids combo which had popcorn, a drink and a bit of chocolate and his eyes were like saucers looking at it all like he couldn’t believe it was all for him lol. He was so good too, just sitting nicely in his seat eating his snack and watching the movie. He was shocked at the size of the screen and was kind of confused that other people were there watching too at one point lol. The movie was really cute too. My cousin and I really enjoyed it even though there was obviously a lot the kids didn’t understand. Typical boy, Cody finished his snack and whispered “still hungry!” so I told him we’d get something else after the movie. He was excellent the whole time and then we’re walking out and he says, “Let’s go again!” So clearly he enjoyed it haha. Mike has taken him to the Minion movie since then and he said he was fairly good but he definitely was in and out of his chair a bit after the popcorn was gone which he didn’t do at all with me. I’ll have to keep an eye out on which kids movies are coming out now so we can go now and then :)
It also took him until the very end of last summer but Cody is really enjoy splash pads this year so I’ve taken him to a number of them. It’s great to see him have fun after last year when we took him to some and he wouldn’t go near the water because he was worried about getting his face wet. Miles won’t go near them at all so far....but what can you do, right?
