House hunt in New Beginnings

Another weekend is here but sadly it is already half way over! Went looking for houses in the Western suburbs, am not a fan of the Western suburbs for some reason, anyway, I liked only 1 out of the 7 that we might have seen and even that one perhaps is going to end up going out of our budget.
It’s sad how the property market keeps inflating in price but the pay never goes up enough to cover the rise in house prices. People keep warning that a housing bubble is due to burst into causing the market to slow but right now it feels like that is never going to happen!
You see I hate the idea of borrowing too much from the bank for your house coz that leads to your whole life revolving around your mortgage repayments and I don’t want to be a slave to the banks, period. I told my husband that I ain’t working for a lifetime working to build a house that I rarely get to live in and enjoy! The other not so pleasant change is the fact that the suburb which we were aiming at either has no houses listed or the houses listed are shitty and this suburb too had been affected by the price inflation. Personally I think it’s the agents playing the market like the stock brokers do with stocks. Well hopefully we find something that we can fall in love with and hopefully it is in the locality where I want it to be. I sincerely hope there is a market correction applied to the real estate market. Yes I know I will lose a little value on my current house but I will cover that hopefully with negative gearing. Well at this stage all I can really do is keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.
