How far along? 24 Weeks [16 weeks or LESS to go!]
How big is baby? Your baby’s growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts her at about 1 1/3 pounds. Since she’s almost a foot long (about the size of an ear of corn), she cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but her body is filling out proportionally and she’ll soon start to plump up.
In the past few weeks, the top of your uterus has risen above your belly button and is now about the size of a soccer ball.
Total weight gain/loss: 122 lbs / up 16 lbs
Maternity clothes? Starting to grow out of a few things, but acquired some new fun stuff, so it’s all good.
Sleep: Still elusive, thanks to Joaquin’s erratic sleeping behavior lately. But generally good when the getting is good.
Best moment this week: Seeing the anatomy ultrasound. Her profile is SO SIMILAR to Joaquin’s, it’s amazing. She’s doing well and is slightly above average in size (I can feel this!)
Worst moment this week: Scheduling mishap regarding Joaquin’s evening last Monday. Involved meltdown.
Movement: So much, all the time, yay.
Food Cravings: Getting back into healthy, fresh food and not so tempted by sweets.
Food Aversions: None, really.
Gender: According to the ultrasound tech “a princess”
Labor Signs: I don’t think so!
Pregnancy Symptoms: Super emotional (crying super easily/ randomly), sciatica, big ole belly.
Belly Button in or out? OUT! omg.
What I miss: This week, I really missed wine. Which is surprisingly rare.
What I am looking forward to: 4th of July weekend
Upcoming appointments/events:
- More birthday party (Micah)
- 4th of July holiday
Milestones (BabyCenter):
Her brain is also growing quickly now, and her taste buds are continuing to develop. Her lungs are developing “branches” of the respiratory “tree” as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once she hits the outside world. Her skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon

He does (or claims to!) He's really exited and I get a LOT of belly hugs and kisses from him on a daily basis. He's going to be a GREAT big brother (if I keep saying it, it will be true ;))
