Pointless? in Life and musings of an old mom-to-be

I’m not really seeing the point of posting entries anymore… except for myself. Then again… isn’t that the WHOLE point? You write for yourself, and if others wanna read and note that’s fine, and if they don’t, that’s fine too. I admit I liked the interaction though… and I miss it.
Anyway, enough with the whining. I’ve been really busy lately what with putting the crib together and the chest of drawers and everything. The nursery is taking shape. It’s still not beautiful–much too cluttered for its own good–but it WILL be.
I’m doing okay with the diet too. The first week was grueling but afterwards I’ve kinda grown into it. It’s made me lose 4 lb, which is a Little scary, since baby is growing and I should be GAINING weight. But I’m assuming the doctor and nutritionist know what they’re doing. Feel really good though, so can’t complain about that.
In other, non -babyverse news:
- Work. Been a piece of crap. My number one fan has been acting up again. I dunno what’s up with that. Every once in a while she seems to get jealous (or something!) and starts doing everything she can to show authority and squash mine. Worst part is, she’s got every right to do it now what she’s my boss. She’d been good for about a year, so guess I got used to it. Oh well–I’ll be on maternity leave soon and forget all about her. Woo hoo!
- Patients. TOO many patients have died lately. It’s uncanny and sad. Hope the trend doesn’t keep. It’s always a blow when they go, plus going to so many wakes and funerals is exhausting. Nothing compared to what the parents are feeling, of course… but it still wears you down.
- TV shows. My faves cancelled, almost all the good ones on hiatus, it’s pretty boring. I started watching Secrets & Lies and so far it’s got my attention… but it won’t make up for the ones the ·%”%” networks tore away from me… damn them.
- Cat. Since mommy is dieting, Rum is dieting too. He’d gotten pretty fat over the past month or two, so it’s been uphill work. But he finally seems to be settling into his “diet” too. There’s actually a bit of a waist visible there.
