The Way to Happiness is:
Keep your heart free from hate, your mind from worry.
Live simply, give much.

Ok so here is the REAL entry I promised (warned!) you about.
May was a busy month again work-wise and a few more thousand miles were put on my company car getting me ever closer to a new one latter this year! Still enjoying it though, so it’s all good.
And it’s just as well I enjoy driving, because what do I do when I go on holiday? I drive over 300 miles down to Cornwall! That’s what happened on the 22nd. I had a week of driving about 800 miles then late friday ( about 8pm) we set off down to Cornwall and our caravan, arriving at 01.30 in the morning. Good job it’s our own caravan and we have a key! Not many staff around at that time of night! We were joined mid-morning that day (Saturday), by Paula and her family. Seven of us in a 6-berth caravan! Great fun!!! We were down for the week as it is Vicki’s 30th birthday tomorrow (Sunday), but couldn’t stay that long obviously because I had to get back to work, as did Drew (SiL). But we had a fantastic week spending time with her, as well as being with the grandsprogs. It really was a hectic time and we’re glad to be home for the rest! LOL
The quotation above is from a screen print wall hanging that we bought while we were down there. It now adorns our bedroom wall, the colours matching perfectly. As does that actual quotation!
Arrriving back we had a new gazebo delivered. We’ve had a couple in the past that have always suffered the effects of the highish winds we get round here sometimes. This one is a lot more sturdy and will be bolted to the patio so shouldn’t be blown about as much. It provides some shelter for Dawn and Lee when they go out for a smoke. Filthy habit, but I can’t get them to quit and if I nag it just makes them worse.
Bit worried about Lee at the moment. For a couple of weeks he’s been complaining of abdominal pains and diarrhoea. This went on for a few days then stopped but started again about 4 days ago. He has no appetite and feels nauseous but hasn’t actually been sick. He went to the doctors yesterday but all he said was keep taking fluids and see how you are next week. This is the doctor that didn’t diagnose my mother properly when she had heart problems just before she died. I have to say my confidence is pretty low with him. When Lee told me what he said I immediately made another appointment for him with a different doctor, one I know and have worked with and actually went to see myself a couple of weeks ago ( Acid reflux problem). She is a good doc and I know she will listen and get something sorted for him. I will admit to being slightly worried about him. I’m wondering just what else the poor lad has to go through. He’s had a pretty crappy life medically wise.
Our neighbours are having a few medical emergencies themselves these days. I may have told you that we are the youngest people in our neighbourhood. All the others are well into their retirement. Well, we had a knock on the door a couple of weeks ago from a neighbour across the road that said our next door neighbour had had a fall and couldn’t get up. She’s had 2 hip replacements and suffers from Parkinsons’. Dawn and I rushed round there to see if we could help. Afterwards Dawn was telling me how I went into “Nurse mode” and basically took over!
She wasn’t too badly hurt but in some hip pain, so I made sure she was as comfortable as possible, did some basic observations and called the Paramedics who were there pretty quickly. I did a quick but concise “handover” at which they looked pretty bemused until I told them I was a nurse and then were glad of the help. Anyway, after X-rays it all proved that it was just bruising. Then about a week after that her husband had a problem. Unfortunately I wasn’t at home this time and Dawn had to call the paramedics. Apparently his lips were blue and he was “really out of it”. He has a Pacemaker fitted and there is some consideration that this didn’t kick in. They say it has happened before, but when checked the unit works OK. He was in hospital for about 3 days, and then let back home.
Nothing much else to report really. Managing to get out on my bike a fair bit and love it more each time I ride it, if that were possible. The Kawasaki KH125 I bought to do up is coming along nicely. I located another mudguard for it and I have only a couple of minor parts to wait for before I can get it finished and hopefully sold to move on to the next one.
Life here is pretty good. I feel settled in myself and my life, and the house is very close to being the way we want it. No worries I can think off, and I really am in a good place.
OK People, time I was going. I need to find another survey to do! LMAO.
Take care all,
Hugz
