Worst. Neighbors. Ever. in What am I doing?

This was my first weekend actually off in I don’t know how long. No plans or commitments, just real days off.

What?!

I decided I wasn’t going to leave the house at all (except to take the boy to work/pick him up, no big deal) which was so nice… Until They showed up.

We got new neighbors a while back and were a little bit concerned that they were going to be awful based on a few loud days, but yesterday… Oh. My. Goodness. So many children. I don’t know how many of them actually belong to the neighbors/how many were just visiting, but if yesterday was any indication of how the summer is going to be around here… Help me. They were EVERYWHERE. In their yard. Screaming. In our yard. Screaming. In the street. Just everywhere. Chaos in stereo. None of them can catch a ball for anything, so it’s only a matter of time before somebody’s going to be replacing windows. At one point they were knocking on the walls and a window and running away. It finally stopped right before I had to go pick up the boy, but when we got home of course it started up again.

I was doing the dishes and it sounded like they were standing in the kitchen with me, that’s how loud they were. Eventually the boy and I decided to go back to the bedroom to watch a movie since it’s furthest away from party central, but of course there were some back there as well (Everywhere, I’m telling you.) No sooner than we turn the bedroom light on we hear kids walking around ON THE ROOF. Apparently our house is their personal jungle gym. I’m beyond irritated at this point. The boy is pissed. The parents were hanging out in their driveway the entire time, not caring at all about what their kids were up to. Absolutely ridiculous.

I’m all for kids playing outside, but I’m also so all for parents teaching their kids respect and boundaries.

All is quiet over there today, though. So. Yay.
