Busy in Earth and Sky

This weekend was all over the place. I’ve got so many bookmarks to catch up on. I’ll get through them between today and tomorrow.

Saturday and Sunday were full of tag sales, birthday parties, family and friends. I picked up a few things for the baby wicked cheap and even got a little bit of color in the process. It has been decided that they need to make an SPF 4000 because otherwise sunblock does NOTHING. I’m not uncomfortably red, but I’m definitely a little more rosy than I’d like.

Spoke with my boss yesterday about getting Memorial Day off. M and J are having a cookout and invited Tim and I to come along. I love having a boss who is so lenient with my schedule. She’s basically like, “As long as you get you let me know ahead of time, you don’t ever have to work holidays.” Which is freakin AWESOME. So I’m going to make a big Cesar salad for that and have a great day enjoying the weather and good company.

I feel like, as I’ve said a million times before, that time is just FLYING by. I can’t believe it’s nearly the end of May and I’ve got just about 4 months left until this baby comes. I think in the next few weeks Tim and I are going to start seriously looking at cribs and furniture for the nursery. All we really need is a crib and a dresser. I’m not going to go all crazy dressing up a room for a kid who wont be able to walk for the first year of his life, haha.

I’ve been feeling myself pulled closer and closer to my spirituality again lately. I think after having to move everything and touch it again it’s really opening up my heart and spirit to the Goddess. I was so focused on the Crone for so long that I’d forgotten the power of the Maiden and the Mother. How I need to embrace the three of them to feel whole and complete. I need to let light shine through me as well as darkness. I think a big part of this transformation is reconnecting with the girls again. It’s been a steady and healthy process and it feels right. I’m actually getting ready to meet L for coffee and I’m really looking forward to it. It’s been a long time.

It’s finally raining here. It’s been so dry the past few weeks and a few days have been unbearably hot. Our garden was starving for some rain. But now it’s a nice, light drizzle and everything is standing straight up and looks great. I’m so excited for our Strawberry plant (Thanks, J!) we saw the first strawberry starting to bud this morning! I cannot wait to harvest these herbs in a formal ceremony and make a giant sage smudge stick. It should be ready just in time for me to need a new one, too. Awesome!

I hope everyone has a fabulous day. <3
