Well… I’m 36 years old. I live in a smallish Latin American country where lots of catastrophes happen on a daily basis. Namely–earthquakes, tsunami, floods, drought, volcanoes erupting. It’s never boring–that’s for sure.
I’m also a doctor, but not the exciting kind people watch on TV. I’m a physiatrist, an area almost no one knows about–unless you’ve had the bad luck to need one. Basically, I’m a physical rehabilitation doctor. I work mostly with kids, though some adults–kids with physical challenges, like cerebral palsy, spina bífida, spinal cord injury, amputations, neuromuscular disorders… and so forth and so on. It’s very rewarding, and I love every minute of it–but it’s a lot of work and can sometimes wear you down.
Every year for December 31st, I’d make a chart of things I’d accomplished. 2014 has probably been my most exciting year up to date (though 2015 will be the most important, since my baby will be born in it, and my entire life will change). OD was down by December 31st 2014, so I never got around to that chart. I’ll fill it out now, and maybe those who are interested, can see a little bit of what life’s been like these past ten years.
**Oh crap, just realized my OD backup didn’t store the charts. Such a shame!!! I’ll just have to créate a new one. Hey… anyone know if there’s emoticons here? I miss them.
**Oh crap again! No chart format in here.
OH well. Here goes nothin’:
2014 in a nutshell:
- Age: 35 to 36
- Marital status: single :)
- Family: just me & the cat. Well, and mom and dad, brother, sister and brother-in-law living in another city.
- Relationships: none. Just some messing around.
- Friendships: the best!
- Social life: almost too much of it. My mind was spinning.
- Travels: Oh… the best. Turkey and France for summer vacation. Brazil for a long weekend and skiing for another long weekend in september.
- The worst of: injuring my left knee trying to ski and having to get surgery.
- The best of: finally taking the leap and daring to get pregnant. :)
- Biggest challenge: having my Archenemy as my boss (she was promoted, I wasn’t). It was terrible at first, but life has a weird way of fixing things. Turned out to be a major improvement in our relationship in the long run. We’re no longer enemies.
- Biggest accomplishment: having my sister choose me as bridesmaid and everything that went with that. Including smoothing down all the bloopers during the wedding ceremony. LOL.
