12 Years a Slave (2013) in Movies

This is the closest we will come to time travelling, if we discount Ken Burns documentaries. But, both have this at their grasp: pertinent information concerning our past, tearjerking moments that happened to real people, and random cameo appearances by famous actors we didn't see coming at all. I will not spoil any of this for you. But get ready to recognize some faces, be impressed by their abilities to (finally) get accents right, and then forget about them because the story is superbly told and feels 100% accurate... even if it probably is only partially at best.
