I can’t believe it’s Thursday already. Another week come and gone. Tim and I are enjoying our typical Thursday morning. Wake up at 9, head to Starbuck’s for our weekly visit, then off to the grocery store for whatever we happen to need, fill up the gas tank and head home to make breakfast. I really like Thursday’s. I’m not sure what it is, but there is something about having a designated “adult” day that fills me with a sense of pride and accomplishment. After we have breakfast we sit down and manage our finances. We figure out what bills we have to pay for the week and what our surplus is after we pay them. Because we do this every week, we were able to save enough in our checking account to pay off the CareCredit card from our last vet visit without having to go into our savings account. We also discovered this morning that since we started saving in January we’ve saved up enough money to cover 4 weeks of my maternity leave. That means we only have to save 3 more weeks worth of my pay before we’re covered for the 12 weeks! That’ll be a really exciting day because then we’ll be able to actually start buying things for the baby.
Speaking of, I think I may have felt our Little move yesterday. I was sitting at work and got this sudden flutter in my lower abdomen and it wasn’t like the weird gassy flutters I usually feel. I’m not sure yet because it was just the one time and I’ll only be 17 weeks tomorrow, but I’m hopeful.
Oh! Tim and I got the greatest surprise yesterday! We were out for our walk and ran into my grand mother and her husband. She seemed a little overly excited to see me and dragged me over to her husbands truck and showed me the flat bed. Inside was the most BEAUTIFUL antique rocker I have ever seen. It had been totally refurnished and was stunning. She smiled and said she hoped I liked it, because it was for me and the baby. I’m so excited! I had added a cushy little rocker to my registry but after seeing what Meme got for me I am thrilled that we’ll have a traditional rocking chair. And it’s SO PRETTY!. ^__^
Let’s see, what else… I’m having a PartyLite party on Saturday! So far it looks like there will be 10-12 people coming, which I’m really excited about because I’m seriously hoping that I can get the little owl candle holders I want for the nursery. I’m gonna make a bunch of appetizers and some lemonade and iced tea and it’ll just be a fun visit with amazing products and good company! I’m going to open all of the windows and really give the house a good cleaning before people get here. Have to present well, you know! :D
