Lots has changed since I last wrote. All the plans are still in motion for us to move. My last day at work was 3/31. I’ve been busy doing stuff with the kids for school - like making the tickets and the 20 page programs for the school musical. I got to go on a field trip with Laney’s class. It’s been fun doing actual mom things without feeling guilty about work.
We’ve changed our plans about building a container house. We were having a hard time finding a builder, so we’ve opted to purchase land with a house and all the things we want on it already. Fortunately in Tennessee, that comes at a very reasonable price - $126,000 for 8 acres with a 1800 sq. ft. house, plus a barn and a pond on the property, about 2 hours from my mother-in-law.
Someone at work asked me what was wrong with the house when I was describing it and the only thing I could tell them was that it was in Tennessee.
I’m excited, but there were a lot of tears the last couple days of work. I still don’t fully know how much I’m going to miss those folks. How much I miss them already.
The really good news is that our next door neighbor just listed his house for sale and it’s under a contract in 4 days. Means our house should sell quickly as well. That’s a bonus and we’ll be in Tennessee by the beginning of July.
Guess it’s time to get off of here and start working on getting this house in order. Been dreading this part of the process for weeks, but no stopping it. :)

Yeah it's funny how much prices can vary by location. I paid twice that for a 500 sq ft condo in Boston with no yard. I hear lot of positive things about Tennessee though. I think I even have a sister living there.
